I had a great friday fancy all lined up and when I hit publish tumblr ate it. It just dissapeared and this is the second week in a row that it’s happened! Last time I sulked and left it but this time I’ve put it together again. I’d love to know why tumblr hates these posts so much *shakes fist*
This Friday I Fancy…
Miniature Dress Brooch Mustard Sybil by Candykins Crafts - There’s a whole range of these felt dress brooches and they are hella cute
Hail Satan Red and White Hat by Katydidnot
Tattooed Lady Rara Arvis - Large Print by The Black Apple
Butterfly Wall Plaque - Made from old ceramic plates! They look so good
Inspiration can come from anywhere.
Sometimes it’s viewing other peoples work and mentally mapping out ways they may have constructed it. Sometimes it’s the challenge of transforming the object I see in front of me into a miniature representation. It can be wanting a way to express a feeling, an opinion or a deep love. In this case, it was a joke I spotted on a favourite tumblr of mine.
Sometimes I just want to make things for people, business/money/etc aside. I wanted to not only create the punchline but to send it to her as a symbol of her own radness.
I’m stupidly delighted with this lobster and I think I’m going to have a go at some more sea creatures.
I think I might start regularly posting other people’s polymer clay work I find impressive and inspiring under the tag “radpolyclay” To kick it off, A selection of work by the Handy Maiden. Her work is formed in clay and the designs are painted on which is very different to my own technique but I love it. Her style is so distinctive (HandyMaiden on Etsy)
The full stall setup, before it got dark and my both my lights decided to both break. Sorry everyone that came to look and couldn’t see! As well as the new stall setup I did my first public clay making demonstration and i think it went well. I made a little rose with graduated light pink to red petal colour and no one yelled “boo”
